How to get there?

By car: The Cosmodrome can easily be reached by car. There is ample free parking at 200 meters from the Cosmodrome

By train: Genk is well connected to Brussels and Antwerp. Info at the English-language site of the Belgian railways http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/. Genk Central Station is located at about 2 km (1.5m) from the Cosmodrome. There is a direct bus connection from the train station to Cosmodrome. Take ‘De Lijn’ bus G2 towards ‘Genk Bloso’ and get out at the last stop (15 minutes). You can find a map of the Belgian railway system here.

By plane – Brussels (BRU): Nearest international airport is Brussels Zaventem International Airport. From Brussels you can take a train to Genk (1:39 hours, change at Leuven).

By plane – Maastricht/Aachen (MST): There is a local and lowcost airport near Genk in Maastricht. From Maastricht central station you can take bus ‘De Lijn’ 45 towards Hasselt, getting out at Genk (about an hour).

By plane – Amsterdam (AMS): Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has a frequent direct train connection to Antwerp, where you can take a train to Genk. Please note that the high speed trains (Thalys) require a surcharge.

Lodging

Hotels: Genk has sufficient hotel capacity, although it may fill up quickly due to several events in the greater area in the same weekend. Camping: For those with a campervan: Kattevennen offers eight hard stand camperplaces with electricity hookup and a water point at the Cosmodrome main parking lot. Detailed info here (Dutch).

There is also an official campground ‘Soete Dal’ at about 2 kilometers from the Cosmodrome. They offer tent and caravan pitches, as well as a number of 5-person chalets. Go to the Soete Dal Camping website here.
